UDOOR information
What does UDOOR mean? What is a bathtub door?
UDOOR stands for “Universal Door.” We install a door in your existing bath, reducing the step-in level by over 29 cm, making it easier to step in and out. The installation takes just one day and costs less than replacing your bath with a shower cubicle.
How low will the entry level be after the conversion?
The step-in level will depend on the height the bath was originally fitted and will differ from bath to bath. We aim to fit the UDOOR bathtub door at the lowest point of the bath as possible. We craft the bathtub door in various sizes to closely match the inner depth of your bath. The step-in level is determined by two key factors, the height of the bath from the floor and the inner depth of the bath. By subtracting the inner depth from the height, you can determine the height of the bath’s bottom from the floor. We recommend ensuring you can comfortably step up to this point before placing your order. We are not responsible for assessing your personal requirements. All and any advice or suggested benefits of products given is intended as general guidance only and is not a replacement for, or alternative to specialist professional advice and assistance.
Why is a UDOOR bathtub door a better option than a shower cubicle?
A UDOOR bathtub door reduces the entry height of your bath, allowing it to serve both as a shower and a bath. By making the entry more accessible with a lower step-in height, your bathtub becomes versatile, usable for both bathing and showering. This is crucial, as it ensures that other family members can continue to enjoy the functionality of the bath. The installation process is quick, it takes just a day. Furthermore, the increased space in the bath can allow you to add a seat, making it easier to assist a relative with limited mobility or age-related challenges. If you’re a carer, the UDOOR enables you to assist with bathing without getting wet. It’s a practical solution for a more comfortable bathing experience.
Can I fill my bath with water after the UDOOR bathtub door is installed?
Yes, the UDOOR bathtub door is 100% watertight.
Will the door leak after the installation?
The UDOOR bathtub door is fully watertight. The door’s special sealing and installation process ensures long-lasting protection. It’s made of heat-resistant materials, so it won’t warp or lose its water resistance. The UDOOR bathtub door’s water resistance is certified by the TÜV Examination Institute.
Can you really install the UDOOR bathtub door into any type of bath?
Yes, we can fit the UDOOR bathtub door into nearly any bath.
How do you decide the opening direction and the placement of the door?
The door is available with a right and left opening direction. We consider factors like the basin, toilet, use of a bathing seat, and grab bars to determine the opening direction and placement of the bathtub door. For safety reasons, the UDOOR door always opens inwards, due to water pressure.
My bath has been re-polished, is this a problem?
We can install the UDOOR in re-polished baths. During installation, we protect the surface of your bath to ensure it remains undamaged, provided the original enamel is in good condition.
Will my tiles be damaged or weakened during the conversion?
No, we take great care to protect your tiles and bathroom surfaces during installation, ensuring no damage is caused.
My bath has a plastic, wooden, or tiled front panel. Can a UDOOR bathtub door still be installed?
Yes, we can install the UDOOR without replacing your front panel, as long as it is in good condition. If you need a new panel or don’t have one, we can fit a new one for you.
What is the UDOOR bathtub door made of? Where is it manufactured?
The UDOOR is made of high-quality, heat-resistant UV-stable artificial ceramic. It’s manufactured in the European Union and certified by the TÜV Examination Institute.
How easy is it to open and close the door?
The UDOOR door is designed to be simple to use. To open, just pull the lock sideways, and when closed, the door locks automatically. A red mark shows when the door is securely closed.
Are the people who work at your company trustworthy?
Yes, our team is made up of trustworthy and reliable individuals. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service and ensuring you have a positive experience from start to finish. Our staff have extensive experience, especially in working with vulnerable individuals.
Will you replace my old bath with a new walk-in bath?
We don’t sell or fit new baths. The UDOOR offers greater flexibility than pre-made walk-in baths, as it can be fitted to your existing bath. If you want a door fitted to a new bath, the old bath must be removed first, and a new bath needs to be fully installed prior to your installation with us.
My bath has a unique or curved shape. Can the UDOOR be installed?
Yes, the UDOOR can be customised to fit any bath, including those with unique or curved shapes. The frame is shaped on-site to match your bath’s contours to ensure a perfect fit for unique or curved baths.
Can you fit a UDOOR into a bath with water jets?
Yes, we can fit a UDOOR into a bath with water jets. Please contact our customer service team for more details!

How do I clean the UDOOR bathtub door?

Avoid using strong, corrosive, acidic or alkaline, and abrasive cleaning agents as these can damage the enamelling of the bath when used for a long time. Cleaning instructions and guidance is given at the time of installation.
